KinStatus

How KinStatus Works

How it works

KinStatus helps families know whether a loved one is OK through simple status updates, relevant alerts, and supporting last-known-location context. There are two simple experiences: a straightforward one for the loved one, and a clear overview for caregivers and family.

Three simple steps

1

Set up your family

Create your family circle in the app and invite the people who help.

2

Connect their phone

Your loved one enters a short code — knowingly, together with you.

3

See the daily “I’m OK”

One tap from them, one calm view for you — with context when attention is needed.

For the loved one: one clear tap is enough

The loved one sees three clear actions. Once set up, everyday check-ins take just one clear tap.

  • I’m OK — Your family will see that you’re OK.
  • Call me — Your family will see that you’d like a call soon.
  • I need help — Your family will see that you need help.

These actions update the family dashboard directly. “Call me” and “I need help” can also alert caregivers where supported. KinStatus does not automatically contact emergency services.

For caregivers and family: one calm dashboard

Caregivers can see the latest status, when the app last sent a signal, useful battery context, and last-known location when sharing and the Android location permission are enabled. Call, reminder, and strong-signal actions are available where currently supported, along with recent events useful for family coordination. Status is always the main message — the map shows last-known-location context, and KinStatus does not build a route history.

Privacy and dignity

KinStatus is used with the loved one’s knowledge, and permissions stay under the phone owner’s control. Location is available only when the relevant Android permission is enabled, and families see last-known-location context — not route history. KinStatus is designed for family reassurance and coordination, not hidden surveillance.

Read the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for full details.

Important: KinStatus supports family communication and awareness. It is not an emergency service or medical device. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services directly.
